IN-STORE COOKING EVENTS
The Outdoor Chef classes are open to all levels of cooks. We specialize in grilling and outdoor processes but offer other techniques as well.
Each class is different and is hands-on.
If you decide to be a participant, come hungry! The entire class gets to enjoy the fruits of the labor by getting to eat everything that has been cooked during the class.
All our sign-ups are in-store only! You need to come to the store to fill in the form and pay.

ABOUT THE TEACHERS
Sheryl and Tony are excellent cooks. The Valentine’s have competed at some of the largest cook-offs in the world and some of the smallest. Here are a handful of their accomplishments:
- The American Royal – 2nd place chicken – perfect score
- San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo Bar-B-Que Cookoff– 1st place bloody mary
- Over 10 Grand Championships
- Hub City BBQ Cookoff – 1st place bloody mary
- Hub City BBQ Cookoff – 1st place dessert
- Hub City BBQ Cookoff – 1st place brisket
- Tri-state Open Chili Championship – 1st place chili
The Hub City BBQ Cookoff is a local event hosted by the Lubbock Chamber, of which they are members. The Outdoor Chef cooking team has cooked it multiple times and looks forward to it every year.
They carry a lot of grill brands at The Outdoor Chef in Lubbock. USA-made grills as well as others made overseas. However, it doesn’t matter where the grills come from; the entire family always takes the time to get certified through each grill company.
While the certification is for repairs, they, again, take the time to cook on every grill style and model they carry. Doing so allows them to learn how to use it properly and get it to work with them not against them. And they gain knowledge about the ins and outs of their grill products that they can turn around and share with you, the customer.
